Manhattan Edit Workshop & the International Colorist Academy offer Resolve 12 Workshops in 2016!
New York, New York – March 24, 2016 – Manhattan Edit Workshop (MEWShop), the cutting-edge authorized digital training destination for post-production and content creators, has just announced dates for new color grading courses in Resolve 12. Instructor Warren Eagles, professional color grader and co-founder of the International Colorist Academy (ICA); will once again return in April to teach our popular introductory ICA 101, ICA 201 and new ICA 205 workshops. Our upcoming advanced ICA workshops in July, will be taught by Dado Valentic founder of U.K.’s leading creative studio MYTHERAPY and fellow instructor for the ICA. “Our introductory ICA workshops with Resolve at MEWShop have been a resounding success since their inception in 2012,” comments Eagles. “As Resolve’s popularity in the industry continues, we have expanded our offerings with MEWShop in New York City.”
Behind the Cinematography of the Oscar-Nominated Documentary "Cartel Land"
Cinematographer Matt Porwoll is based in New York City. His most recent work, Cartel Land, was nominated for a 2016 Academy Award for Best Documentary (feature). Cartel Land was also selected for competition at the 2015 Sundance Film Festival and subsequently went on to win the US Documentary Prize for Cinematography. He was one of three speakers on the documentary panel at MEWShop's "Sight, Sound & Story: The Art of Cinematography," 2015 event. We recently caught up with him to ask some in-depth questions about his career and experiences as a cinematographer.

What I love about these videos from the Manhattan Edit Workshop, is that not only do I get to hear from some of the film industry’s top editors, sound designers and visual effects artists, but that I can learn from them as they show how they handle the inherent creative challenges that every film project contains. And regardless of the scale of the budget, making sure what worked in the script works on screen, or overcoming production audio problems or even massaging the footage there is, to make a scene work is the same challenge the world over.
