“Sight, Sound & Story” Successfully Returns for Its Sixth Year to NYC
New York, NY – June 25, 2018, – Manhattan Edit Workshop, the east coast leader in training for content creators, held its annual “Sight, Sound & Story: Post Production Summit” symposium on June 14th at the NYIT Auditorium on Broadway. Nearly 300 attendees watched three panels covering TV, documentary and feature film with legendary editors discussing their craft, followed by a networking party sponsored by American Cinema Editors.
This year’s post-production summit started off with acclaimed documentary editors Bryan Chang (“Brasslands,” “Narco Cultura,” “A Year in Space”), Ann Collins (“Joan Didion: The Center Will Not Hold,” “Swim Team”), and Matthew Hamachek (“Cartel Land,” “The Trade,” “Amanda Knox,” “Meet the Patels”); moderated by Garret Savage. The second panel discussed the cinematic revolution of TV as experienced by editors. This panel featured Naomi Geraghty (“Billions,” “Bloodline,” “Treme”), Lynne Willingham, ACE (“Breaking Bad,” “Ray Donovan,” “X-Files”), and moderator Michael Berenbaum, ACE (“Sex & The City,” “The Americans,” “Divorce”).
The closing panel featured the talents of Oscar-nominated editor Kevin Tent, ACE (“Sideways,” “Election,” “The Descendants,” “Nebraska,” “Blow”) with author and historian Bobbie O’Steen. Tent and O’Steen took the audience through his career from his beginnings with B-Film legend Roger Corman, to his long-standing success with Oscar-winning director Alexander Payne.
