Recently, Manhattan Edit Workshop was honored to present Academy Award winning editor and ACE President Alan Heim to a packed house of colleagues, cutters and film buffs at the Helen Mills Theater in Chelsea. With a career spanning 30 years and a resume including such greats as All That Jazz, Network, and Lenny, Alan shared scenes from his extensive body of work, war-stories from his collaborations with directors like Bob Fosse, Sidney Lumet, & Mel Brooks and offered invaluable insight into the world of editing. Fellow editor Kate Sanford (The Wire, Sex and the City) said it best, calling it an “absolutely wonderful, awe-inspiring evening, and a strong reminder of why I wanted to go into editing.”
