MEWShop Welcomes David Ian Salter, ACE As Our November 2015 Artist in Residence!

Manhattan Edit Workshop is proud to announce that acclaimed edtior David Ian Salter, ACE, will be our November 2015 Artist in Residence.  David's work includes the recently released The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water and Finding Nemo which won the 2004 Academy Award for Best Animated Feature . Some of David's other work includes Toy Story 2, Ice Age: Continental Drift, and A Bug's Life. MEWShop Owner and Six Week Intensive Instructor Josh Apter says, “We had David as an Artist in Residence a few years ago.  His interaction with the students was so rewarding and informative, we’ve really been looking forward to the time when he was available again for the class."  Our next Six Week Intensive starts November 2nd!

Paul is originally from Kalamazoo Michigan and now resides in Port Washington, NY with his wife Deb. Paul is primarily known for his work with comedian Louis CK, but has also shot features, documentaries and series-based shows such as the Hulu comedy, “Deadbeat”. New Color Grading courses in Resolve 12 taught by ICA instructors Dado Valentic & Warren Eagles

New York, New York – August 28, 2015 – Manhattan Edit Workshop (MEWShop), the cutting-edge authorized digital training destination for post-production and content creators, has just announced dates for new color grading courses in Resolve 12.  MEWShop’s upcoming advanced International Colorist Academy (ICA) workshops in September; will be taught by Dado Valentic, founder of U.K.’s leading creative studio MYTHERAPY and fellow instructor for the ICA.  Instructor Warren Eagles, professional color grader and co-founder of the (ICA); will once again return in October to teach our popular introductory ICA 101 and ICA 201 workshops.  “Our introductory ICA workshops with Resolve at MEWShop have been a resounding success since their inception in 2012,” comments Eagles.  “I expect our advanced classes will be of similar success and can’t wait to return to New York with our expanded line up!”

Manhattan Edit Workshop is proud to announce that acclaimed edtior Joe Klotz, ACE, will be our September 2015 Artist in Residence.  Joe's work includes Lee Daniels' The Butler and Precious, in which he was nominated for a 2009 Academy Award for Best Editing. Some of Joe's other work includes Chappelle's Show, Rabbit Hole, Upright Citizen's Brigade, Choke, and Happyish. MEWShop Owner and Six Week Intensive Instructor Josh Apter adds, "Our Artist in Residence program always brings in some of the best in the business and Joe is among those at the top of their game. I look forward to seeing him working hands-on with our students."  Our next Six Week Intensive starts September 14th!

The Open Call for submissions for our 2016-17 fellowship begins today! The online application must be completed by September 30, 2015. There is no fee to apply.

The Karen Schmeer Film Editing Fellowship honors the memory of our friend and gifted editor Karen Schmeer. Inspired by Karen's generous nature, the fellowship assists emerging documentary editors by developing their talent, expanding their creative community, and furthering their career aspirations. We work with American Cinema Editors (ACE), Sundance Institute, Manhattan Edit Workshop, SXSW, IFFBoston, Stranger than Fiction, and Rooftop Films to offer a wide array of opportunities for promising editors.
