In addition to the Artist in Residence program, Mewshop's Six Week Intensive also features a regular flow of Guest Lecturers - filmmakers, post-facility owners, Editors Guild reps, directors, producers - who speak with our students either on field trips or in the classroom. These guests all add to the real-world education we provide by adding insight, advice from their own professional and personal experiences.

While a film student at the School of Visual Arts, Evan Schechtman had an unfortunate incident with a Moviola. The bloodletting, coupled with the frustration at the restraints of modern technology, led him to think about the future of post-production.
In the years that followed, Evan became an expert in desktop technology and in 1998 founded Outpost Digital, which fast became known for its innovative use of next generation media technologies. In 2000, Outpost was acquired by bicoastal/international radical.media and Evan became radical's Chief Technology Officer, while still heading up Outpost Digital's New York office, as well as their new facility in Santa Monica.
Over the years, Evan has built a core group of people who share his creative vision and passion for technology. Outpost has done extensive work in broadcast, film and commercials, working with such networks as ABC, CBS, MTV, VH1, ESPN and The Food Network, agencies like Ogilvy & Mather, BBH and Weiden+Kennedy, as well as Steven Soderbergh, Gus Van Sant and Danny DeVito.
