ICA 101: An Introduction to Colorist Strategies with DaVinci Resolve
A great introduction to Resolve Mac V11 software. This class is ideal for first time users, you do not need to be a Colorist or have had previous grading or Resolve experience. The class mixes the operational side of Resolve with some practical real world training on workflows, basic color theory, gradinapproaches and techniques.

Setting up your Resolve
Loading the software and getting started. How to create a new customized user, and get all the config settings correct before you kick off. 2K, HD, what if you only need SD?
How to get your images in
Importing and conforming both film and digital material using an EDL/XML/AAF
Scene cut detector and manually creating a timeline.
Basic Color Theory
Looking at the waveform, vectorscope, and histogram.
How different Colors interact with increased saturation/contrast and why some colors

About The ICA: The International Colorist Academy (ICA) has been founded by colorists, Kevin Shaw and Warren Eagles who between them have over 50 years of grading experience in all forms of the Color Correction industry. About Warren Eagles: Warren has been grading for over 20 years, and is now living in Australia, He is available for both short and longform contracts and happy working on commercials and movies, drama or music using Resolve, 2K plus, Apple Color and Bones Dailies. He specializes in short term cover and often goes straight from the airport to a room full of clients. He enjoys the challenges of working on different types of projects with new clients in new environments.
Now working as a freelance Colorist in Australia, he splits his time between grading and training throughout Asia. He has a lot of experience on a number of grading systems including Apple “Color” where he has worked on both series of the channel 10 cop series “Rush”.
